Hull Libraries - we’ve got everything, and the books!

Anyone can use our libraries, whatever your age. We have 12 libraries across the city that provide a wide range of materials for loan, computers and internet access and a fantastic range of events and activities. We offer an excellent support service for schools and also have a home library service for those who are unable to get to a library. 

It’s free to join our libraries, as are most of its services and events. Everyone is welcome whether you live, work or study in Hull, or if you are a visitor.

Join the library

Whether you live, work or study in Hull, or are a visitor, anyone can join our libraries. There are no age restrictions, children can even join from birth!

How to borrow items

Did you know you can borrow lots of different things from Libraries? We have a wide range of multimedia items and equipment for loan.

Our local libraries are located around the city in easy to reach places. They offer much more than borrowing and reference services.

The library catalogue allows you to search all the books, E-books, sheet music, DVDs and CDs held in Hull libraries.

Makerspace

Hosted in Hull Central Library, our space has state of the art manual, digital and electronic equipment. We have skilled staff providing support and workshops, as well as space to -

  • create and invent
  • explore and learn
  • think and exhibit

Events and activities

We hold lots of events and activities in our libraries and most of them are free. There's something for every one.
